This short mystery / adventure story by the writer best known as Edgar Allan Poe focuses on the protagonist William Legrand's all-consuming fixation on an unusual gold-colored bug he has discovered. 

A delightful small-format (7.5 x 13 cms) hardcover bound in decorated leather boards with decorative, padded cloth interior as well as matching clothbound endpapers and gold gilt-edged pages. Featuring illustrations by 'Mittis', the interior pages are unmarked and still bright and not yellowed. Some wear and moderate disintegration of cloth on endpapers, especially lower inside corner of back endpaper and moderate wear leatherbound boards particularly at top of join of spine.
