The Island of Radiant Pearls by F. E. Knight

We don't know a great deal about the author, Francis Edgar Knight, other than he seems to have been the author of a number of nautically-themed children's adventure books, such as this one. Indeed, given that the author seems to have fallen into obscurity, this item is now perhaps more notable for featuring jacket design and illustration (as well as interior line drawings) by the esteemed dustjacket illustrator, Stephen Russ.

First edition hardcover. Dustjacket has not been price-clipped and bears very light wear only, including two very tiny, closed tears to top of spine section and some marking visible to plain white back. Book itself has foxing / spotting to top edge of text block / paper stock, and to a lesser degree to outside vertical edge. Inscription by original owner detailing where and when book was originally published (Truro, 1953) on opening endpaper which adds to charm, but otherwise it remains in very good condition overall with no further marking to pages and clean, unmarked, green clothbound boards.
