Three short stories by William Burroughs together with illustrations by Bob Gale. In the titular story, Burroughs uses his customary montage techniques to cut across time and cultural barriers to castigate the twentieth century's addiction to control in a kaleidoscopic series of powerful images, leaving us with the apocalyptic warning the 'Ah Pook (the Mayan god of death) was here'.
