Mosaic Studies No 2 by Joan Charnley (original 1947 ink and watercolour design from Joan Charnley's sketchbooks)
This glorious animal study is amongst the earliest designs discovered in Joan's sketchbooks. Painted while at art college, aged just 19, they depict creatures in mosaic form sourced from books on ancient Sicilian art.
