Teleny or The Reverse of the Medal (Traveller's Companion Series No 62 / 1958)

The Olympia Press was a French Publishing house established by Maurice Girodias, which specialised in the publication of pornography / erotica (often penned anonymously by writers who subsequently went on to achieve fame. However, in addition to these risqué works, Olympia Press also published numerous cutting-edge works by literary writers whose work was prohibited in their own countries, such as Samuel Beckett, William Burroughs, Vladimir Nabakov, Alexander Trocchi and J. P. Donleavy. It was able to do so by publishing the novels in the English language only, hence the 'Traveller's Companion' label.

This anonymously-penned erotic novel telling 'the story of a forbidden relationship' was originally published circa 1893 is often attributed to Oscar Wilde.

Softcover. Creasing to spine and very slight forward rolling of same indicate that this book has been read. Some light creasing to top, outside corner of front cover and some very light foxing to top edge of text block, but overall this book remains in very good condition with clean, unmarked pages and tight binding.
