My Life and Loves by Frank Harris – 5th Volume (Traveller's Companion Series No 10 / 1959)
The Olympia Press was a French Publishing house established by Maurice Girodias, which specialised in the publication of pornography / erotica (often penned anonymously by writers who subsequently went on to achieve fame. However, in addition to these risqué works, Olympia Press also published numerous cutting-edge works by literary writers whose work was prohibited in their own countries, such as Samuel Beckett, William Burroughs, Vladimir Nabakov, Alexander Trocchi and J. P. Donleavy. It was able to do so by publishing the novels in the English language only, hence the 'Traveller's Companion' label.
My Life and Loves is the salacious, erotic autobiography of the Irish writer and editor, Frank Harris (1856-1931). This is the first Olympia edition, fourth printing.
