Junkie by William Burroughs (Olympia Press Traveller's Companion Series No 114 / 1966)

The Olympia Press was a French Publishing house established by Maurice Girodias, which specialised in the publication of pornography / erotica (often penned anonymously by writers who subsequently went on to achieve fame. However, in addition to these risqué works, Olympia Press also published numerous cutting-edge works by literary writers whose work was prohibited in their own countries, such as Samuel Beckett, William Burroughs, Vladimir Nabakov, Alexander Trocchi and J. P. Donleavy. It was able to do so by publishing the novels in the English language only, hence the 'Traveller's Companion' label.

A collaborative publication between the Paris-based Olympia Press and the London-based arm of New English Library / Four Square books, which was seemingly the first time Burroughs controversial 1953 book was made widely available in the UK.

Softcover in very good condition with clean, unmarked pages, tight binding and very light wear only to cover and spine. Cover appears to have been laminated for protection after publication.
