Sells Like Teen Spirit: Music, Youth Culture and Social Crisis by Ryan Moore
Sells Like Teen Spirit: Music, Youth Culture and Social Crisis by Ryan Moore (New York University Press / 2010)
Brilliantly-titled overview of the histories of punk, hardcore, heavy metal, glam, thrash, alternative rock, grunge and riot grrrl in relation to the wider social changes that have taken place alongside their development. Kind of like an updated US version of Dick Hebdige's "Subculture: The Meaning of Style"'.
Softcover. Some rubbing to exterior edges of front and back cover, slight backwards bending of paper stock at top outside corner and gift inscription on opening half-title page, but overall this book is in very good condition with clean, unmarked pages which are free from notes and underlining and no creasing to spine.
