Handsome first edition, eight-volume guide to all aspects of the textile industry at the start of the 20th Century, covering 'the preparation of fibres, spinning, doubling, designing, weaving, bleaching, printing, dyeing and finishing'.
This is a well looked-after set is in VERY GOOD condition overall with beautiful gilt decoration on navy clothbound boards and spine. Naturally, there are some condition defects caused by age and storage, as you might expect, and these have been detailed, volume-by-volume, below:
Vol 1: Bumping to bottom outside corners of cover boards and some rubbing to top and bottom of spine. Heavy foxing (spotting) to both recto and verso endpapers and some of the same to outside edges of text block. Contains fold-out model of Ribbon Loom pasted to inside back board. Pages: 176
Vol 2: Very minor bumping to bottom outside corners of cover boards and some very minor rubbing to top and bottom of spine. Some light foxing to outside edges of text block. Pages: 180
