Beautiful survey of British birds featuring delightful illustration throughout by the celebrated English illustrator William James Affleck Shepherd (1866–1946).

Hardcover. No dustjacket. Some rubbing to top and bottom edges of spine, minor bumping to exterior corners of front and back cover boards as well as some minor marking of same in places. Some loosening of binding on front, non-illustrated endpapers with web binding revealed, but binding remains sound overall. Also, original owner has been inspired by Shepherd's work to attempt her own bird / wildlife scene in pencil on same front endpapers, which all adds to the charm in our view. On the whole, though, we would classify this volume as remaining in GOOD condition.
