Steiner's Tour: A Novel by Philip O'Connor (Olympia Press Traveller's Companion Series No 83 / 1960)

The Olympia Press was a French Publishing house established by Maurice Girodias, which specialised in the publication of pornography / erotica (often penned anonymously by writers who subsequently went on to achieve fame. However, in addition to these risqué works, Olympia Press also published numerous cutting-edge works by literary writers whose work was prohibited in their own countries, such as Samuel Beckett, William Burroughs, Vladimir Nabakov, Alexander Trocchi and J. P. Donleavy. It was able to do so by publishing the novels in the English language only, hence the 'Traveller's Companion' label.

A collection of erotic tales set in London.

Softcover housed in original card wrap featuring an illustration by Ronald Searle. Some light foxing / spotting to outer edges of text block and moderate wear / marking to spine of book itself. Light marking also visible to largely white card wrap, but overall book is in good condition.
