Bottoms Up by Jock Carroll (Olympia Press Traveller's Companion Series No 86 / 1961)

The Olympia Press was a French Publishing house established by Maurice Girodias, which specialised in the publication of pornography / erotica (often penned anonymously by writers who subsequently went on to achieve fame. However, in addition to these risqué works, Olympia Press also published numerous cutting-edge works by literary writers whose work was prohibited in their own countries, such as Samuel Beckett, William Burroughs, Vladimir Nabakov, Alexander Trocchi and J. P. Donleavy. It was able to do so by publishing the novels in the English language only, hence the 'Traveller's Companion' label.

Bottom's Up is the one and only novel by Canadian Jock Carroll, who subsequently carved out a reputation as a photojournalist par excellence, and is effectively a satire about the magazine industry.

Softcover in very good condition with clean, unmarked pages, tight binding and very light wear only to cover and spine.
